The leather’s name was inspired by where the cowhides are sourced, a city in Northeast Italy. Vicenza is an aniline-dyed leather that goes through a special retanning process that tightens the grain and enriches the feel in the hand. The surface is then refined in preparation for finishing, where it is given a breathable protective finish that becomes an integral part of the material.

Spinneybeck was founded by Charlie Manchee in 1962 in Stouffville, Ontario, introducing full grain, aniline-dyed Italian leathers to North America. They quickly grew and crossed the border into New York in the early 1980’s, where they have become the world’s preeminent supplier of this type of leather.

One key factor for Spinneybeck’s long standing success is their partnership with the Gobbetti family in Arzignano, a city in the Vicenza province. The Gobbetti’s specialize in upholstery leather production and provide Spinneybeck exclusive access to the finest Italian leathers available.

Vicenza is available in four color options: Villabalzana, a rich shade of white with inviting warm undertones; Valle Cavanata, a velvety shade of medium brown; Scamozzi, a dark brown, with hints of espresso; and Black, for both a luxurious and refined aesthetic.
